A Tribute in Thread: The Story Behind The Parwich Collection

When I first visited the tiny Derbyshire village of Parwich, it was one of those moments that quietly stays with you. Nestled in soft green hills near Ashbourne, it felt like stepping into a forgotten corner of England — stone cottages wrapped in climbing roses, gardens filled with blooms, and the gentle hum of bees drifting through the afternoon. There was something deeply romantic about it, yet wonderfully unpretentious.

That quiet, natural beauty became the inspiration for The Parwich Collection — a series of sage green rose floral ties, bow ties, pocket squares, children’s bow ties, and cufflinks, all handmade in Nottingham. The colours reminded me of that summer day in Parwich: soft, balanced, and effortlessly elegant.
Back in the studio, I searched for a fabric that could capture that same sense of calm and character I’d experienced in the village. When I discovered this delicate rose print, it instantly transported me back to the gardens, stone walls, and gentle Derbyshire light. That’s when I knew it was perfect.
Each piece in the collection is individually handmade, using traditional tailoring techniques. I carefully position each rose and leaf so the print flows naturally across every bow tie and tie, making each piece feel truly unique.
The fabric is soft yet structured enough to hold a refined knot, and its gentle sage green and rose palette pairs beautifully with linen, tweed, or navy suiting. It’s ideal for weddings, garden parties, or any occasion where you want to carry a touch of English charm.
If you’ve never visited, Parwich is worth a stroll — you can find it on the Visit Peak District website. Wander through its flower-filled lanes, and you’ll understand why it inspired this collection.

English floral prints have a long and beautiful history, from 18th-century block-printed cottons to the enduring artistry of William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement (explore more at the William Morris Gallery). In its own way, the Parwich Collection continues that tradition — blending heritage-inspired patterns with modern wearability.
Creating this collection was about more than design; it was about capturing a feeling. I wanted to bottle the calm, romance, and timelessness of the village in a tie, bow tie, pocket square, or cufflink. Each piece is made to order, carefully finished, and packaged by hand in Nottingham — from my hands to yours.
